The Weight of the Head

Sculpture2016

This piece was created during my college days. Originally, the figure was meant to be upright, but while I was finishing it, the head collapsed under its own weight. Instead of repairing it in a conventional way, I decided to let the figure cradle its own head. What began as an accident turned into a reflection on fragility, burden, and acceptance. The figure, seated with its limbs wrapped around itself, holds on to what has broken, making the flaw part of its expression. For me, it captures the tension between vulnerability and resilience—how even in collapse, there can be a new form of meaning.
